Easter season at the seminary

After the Easter Triduum, the calm returns to the abbey of Évron. The seminarians have taken turns in order to guard the seminary and set the house in order again, while other left on holidays class by class, in order to have some well-deserved rest.

On Saturday, April 7th, a good portion of the seminarians went to the football stadium of Laval in order to support Stade Lavallois who played against Grenoble. With their trumpets and their songs, the seminarians animated this meeting with enthusiasm, and permitted the team from Mayenne to obtain the one point of a tied game.

The following week, the seminarians rediscovered with enthusiasm their desks and class rooms in order to get back to work after two weeks without classes. The propaedeutics have joined different parishes of the Community in order to make a ten-day internship. The objective of this pastoral insertion is to discover the ministry and the life of a local community, in the frame of the year of discernment.

At the occasion of the weekend of the Good Shepherd, April 21 and 22, all the seminarians were sent out on missions in parishes of the Community: to Brie-Comte-Robert, Dijon, Laval, Nogent, Vouvray, Trélazé, Montligeon and Montrichard. The majority being hosted in families of parishioners, the seminarians participated with joy in different parish activities: liturgical service for the offices and the Mass as well as animation of youth groups, repetitions for altar servers, house visits, “aperitif with the priest” and parish evenings.
